billabong:
In Australia, a billabong is a large, freshwater pond or swamp.
billy:
A billycan is a can (traditionally) used to boil water, generally to make tea. In modern times, it is sometimes used to make coffee and other hot drinks as well.
jumbuck:
The word "jumbuck" is a poetic, "silly" word sheep in Australian English, popularised by this song.
tucker bag:
a bag for food
shoved:
Sometimes changed to "stowed".
squatter:
The land owner
thoroughbred:
a thoroughbred horse
Down came the troopers, one, two, three.:
The police are the "troopers".
And his ghost may be heard as you pass by that ...:
The swagman committed suicide by drowning himself in the billabong.
